ALL HEART

. . we often find ourselves standing before the frontier as defined by Joe & Ian of Nice Collective.
Not only my dear friends whom I love very much, but the primary pillars of integrity, modesty and inspiration for me over the past decade.

DEMOCRACY / DAMOCLES

Recently attended Josh Kornbluth's incredible new monologue, Citizen Josh.
For those in the Washington DC area, the upcoming shows are not to be missed.
There are passages about democracy that are inspired and breathtaking; I'll try to get Josh's permission to post them here. In the meantime please check out . . . well, any of his work really.

Just fantastic.

HOKUSAI

. . . Well, not really. moving paint around for me has more to do with adrenal/limbic systems and biomorphic forms. Interior space depictions. I suppose in Hokusai's crested wave- even in its chaos- there is nary a wasted movement or stroke; an ordered chaos.

There is also a bit of an homage to Scorpions guitarist Mattias Jabs' Gibson Explorer, as well as Skater Steve Stedham's old Powell graphics.

I started skating again, to try to de-dough-ify a bit (to uh, invent a word) and thought I'd put some paint to the plank just for heck. The fish board is an old Alva Craig Johnson (sanded the graphic off; the colors were causing me anxiety, sorry.) and the larger hammerhead is a Hosoi blank. I'll do a parlor coffin shape next, and maybe so sort of longboard iteration with a similar faceted geometric sidecut. No nu-skool flippy boards that rattle your teeth out. I'm too old and brittle for that !@#$.
